What Is a Polish Sworn Translator?

A Polish sworn translator (tłumacz przysięgły) is an individual officially authorised by the Polish Minister of Justice under the Act of 25 November 2004 on the Profession of Sworn Translator. Registration number TP/122/24 can be independently verified on the Ministry of Justice register. Only an individual sworn translator — not a translation agency — may legally issue certified translations in their own name in Poland.

The Statutory Repertory — Proof That Every Translation Is Legally Registered

Under Polish law, every certified translation by a sworn translator must be entered into the Repertorium Czynności Tłumacza Przysięgłego — a statutory record book inspected regularly by the Ministry of Justice. Each entry records the date, the client, the document translated, language, page count and fee. If anyone suspects a certified translation bearing Magdalena Fowler’s stamp is a forgery, they can contact her directly with the registration number TP/122/24 visible on the stamp — every genuine translation will have a corresponding repertory entry. A forgery will not.

Yes. A certified translation from a Polish sworn translator (TP/122/24) is accepted by both UK institutions (UKVI, NARIC, courts) and US institutions (USCIS, US courts, universities) without additional certification. The DPSI English Law qualification provides additional authority for UK institutional submissions.

UKVI and USCIS typically do not require an Apostille — the certified translation alone is sufficient for most immigration applications. UK and US courts, some universities and some registration processes may require an Apostille on the original Polish document. Guidance is provided on a case-by-case basis.
